Confirmation / Confirmación

The Sacrament of Confirmation seals and brings to fruition the graces that were given at Baptism. St. Thomas More provides for this special time in the life of the Catholic when it is received sophomore year of high school at the earliest. Through Mass, preparation, and retreat, those seeking Confirmation can come to see the importance of what it is they are undertaking.

The Confirmation Preparation Process

Confirmation at St. Thomas More requires a prerequisite of one year for systematic catechesis (Year 1; to register click here) which is open to all 9-12 grade teens. Candidates who have completed one year of this catechesis or who are receiving Catholic high school religious education can enroll in the  Confirmation program (Year 2).

 Sessions will be held on Tuesdays during the Fall and will end before Christmas. There will also be a Mass and social held on the first Saturdays of the month in October, November, and December.

Note that these sessions along with the Confirmation retreat are mandatory for the reception of the sacrament.
 

ELIGIBILITY

• Baptized in the Catholic faith and has submitted a copy of their baptism certificate. To submit forms, email copies to [email protected].

• Has received First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, or is in the formation process to receive those sacraments.

• Participates in the sacramental life of the Church by attending weekly Mass and exhibits an active faith life and understanding of the Church.

 The total cost for Confirmation preparation is $200 which must be paid in full by January 1st.
