In 1999, our STM youth group community lost a dear special girl, Carolina Gonzalez. Several members and leaders of the group at the time organized, with Fr. Bill's blessing, to create a spiritual place to honor her, with a teak bench, wind chimes, etc. STM school created and donated a concrete bench covered with mosaic tiles, and a couple of bird baths were placed there over the years. Carolina's loss was great, as her family had been longtime parishioners, and were very loved.All of this area has taken a toll over time and weather, and in March of 2025 dedicated members of the Youth Group from that era decided to pull together some "friends of Carolina" to work on this area. Through prayer and discussion it was decided to name it The Angel Garden, honoring the lives of Carolina, as well as two other members of the Youth Group from that time who were lost too soon: Katie Hoffman Garcia and Todd Maddox.
